Welcome!
The word doctor comes from the Latin word docere, which means “to teach.” I entered residency planning for a career in private practice pediatrics, educating my patients and their families. However, early in my intern year I discovered a love for teaching medical students and the team dynamics that were found in an academic environment. Since then, education has played a significant part of my medical career and is easily responsible for the largest portion of my job satisfaction. My teaching trajectory demonstrates passion for lifelong learning, dedication to medical education in myself and my learners, and inspiring others around me to become better teachers themselves.
